TRUST

A telephone operator told me that one day she received a phone call.

She answered, "Public Utilities Board." There was silence.

She repeated, "PUB." There was still no answer.

When she was going to cut off the line, she heard a lady's voice, "Oh, so this is PUB. Sorry, I got the number from my Husband's pocket but I do not know whose number it is.

Without mutual trust, just imagine what will happen to the couple if the telephone operator answered with just "hello" instead of "PUB"?

TRUST is a very important factor for all relationships. When trust is broken, it is the end of the relationship. Lack of trust leads to suspicion, suspicion generates anger, anger causes enmity and enmity may result in separation.

DEAL OR NO DEAL (THE CHALLENGE)

A farmer had the misfortune of owing a large sum of money to a village moneylender. The moneylender, who was old and ugly, fancied the farmer's beautiful daughter. So he proposed a bargain.

He said he would forgo the farmer's debt if he could marry his Daughter. Both the farmer and his daughter were horrified by the Proprosal.

So the cunning moneylender suggested that they let the village elders to decide the matter.

He told them that he would put a black Pebble and a white pebble into an empty money bag. Then the girl would have to pick one pebble from the bag.

1) If she picked the black pebble, she would become his wife and her father's debt would be forgiven.

2) If she picked the white pebble she need not marry him and her father's debt would still be forgiven.

3) But if she refused to pick a pebble, her father would be thrown into Jail.

They were standing on a pebble strewn path in the farmer's field. As they talked, the moneylender bent over to pick up two pebbles. As he picked them up, the sharp-eyed girl noticed that he had picked up two Black pebbles and put them into the bag.

Now, imagine that you were standing in the field. What would you have done if you were the girl?

If you had to advise her, what would you Have told her?

Careful analysis would produce 3 possibilities:

1) The girl should refuse to take a pebble.

2) The girl should show that there were two black pebbles in the bag and expose the money-lender as a cheat.

3) The girl should pick a black pebble and sacrifice herself in order to save her father from his debt and imprisonment.

Take a moment to ponder over the story. The above story is used with the hope that it will make us appreciate the difference between lateral and logical thinking.

The girl's dilemma cannot be solved with traditional logical thinking. Think of the consequences if she chooses the above logical answers

What would you recommend to the Girl to do?

Something2Share …..

Someone, knowing that if the girl refused to pick a pebble or exposed the moneylender as a cheat, her father would be thrown into jail, suggested that the girl took a white pebble hidden in her hand. Put her hand into the bag and pull it out quickly showing the white pebble in her hand.
The suggestion seemed to be a good recommendation to the girl if the hidden pebble in her hand was not noticed by the moneylender.

Question is this moneylender was cunning. Surely he would have checked the girl’s hand before allowing her putting it into the bag to pick a pebble.

Was it no choice for the girl but had to pick one of the black pebbles to save her father and married to the old ugly moneylender? Surely there is a way out.

Keep thinking literally, OK?

CHANGE A NEW LIFESTYLE

If any of these points are part of your lifestyle then you are at risk, please change yourselves in accordance to Doctor’s Instructions:-

1) I was not doing any physical exercise for more than 10 years, not even walking 30 minutes a day for years.

Need to have physical exercise for minimum of 45 minutes daily.

2) My food timings are 11:00 AM Breakfast or no Breakfast, 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM Lunch and dinner at 11:00 PM to 12:00 AM.

Eat your food at perfect timings, like how you eat during your school days. Have regular meals. Never skip breakfast.

3) Sleeping in very odd timings, going to bed between 12:00 AM and 3:00 AM. Waking up at between 9:00 AM and 10:30AM... Some times spending sleepless nights.

Sleep for 8 hours a day, this count should complete before sun rising.

4) I used to eat heavily because of long gaps between lunch and dinner and I used to make sure that Non-Veg is available most of the time, there were times when I did survey on city hotels to find delicious Non-Veg dishes. I was never interested in vegetable and healthier food.

Eat in small quantities more times. Have lot of vegetables and boiled food; try to avoid fry items and oily food. Fish is good than other non-vegetarian food.

5) Above all I was chain smoker from years.

Stop smoking.

6) My father passed away due to heart problems, and the doctors say the heart problems are usually genetic.

Genetic problems we cannot avoid but we can get away from it by having regular checkups.

DON'T COMPLAIN!

Observe around you and be thankful for all that you have in this transitory lifetime.

We are fortunate, we have much more than what we need to be content.

Let’s not try to feed this endless cycle of consumerism and immorality in which this “modern and advanced” society forgets and ignore the other two thirds of our brothers and sisters.

Let us complain less and give more!

ARE YOU LONESOME TONIGHT? (Senior Citizen Version)

Are you lonesome tonight?
Does your tummy feel tight?
Did you bring your mylanta and tums?

Does your memory stray,
To that bright sunny day,
When you had all your teeth and your gums?

Is your hairline receding?
Your eyes growing dim?
Hysterectomy for her,
And its prostate for him.

Does your back give you pain?
Do your knees predict rain?
Tell me dear, are you lonesome tonight?

Is your blood pressure up?
Good cholesterol down?
Are you eating your low fat cuisine?

All that oat bran and fruit,
Metamucil to boot.
Helps you run likeA well oiled machine.

If it's football or baseball,
He sure knows the score.
Yes, he knows where it's at
But forgets what it's for.

So your gallbladder's gone,
But your gout lingers on,
Tell me dear, are you lonesome tonight?

When you're hungry, he's not,
When you're cold, he is hot,
Then you start that old thermostat war.

When you turn out the light,
He goes left and you go right,
Then you get his great symphonic snore.

He was once so romantic,
So witty and smart;
How did he turn out to be such
A cranky old fart?

So don't take any bets,
It's as good as it gets,
Tell me dear, are you lonesome tonight?

Ladies and gentlemen, Elvis has left the building.

Miracle & Self-Confidence

He survived against all the odds. Now Peng Shulin has astounded doctors by learning to walk again.

When his body was cut in two by a lorry in 1995, it was a little short of a medical miracle that he lived. It took a team of more than 20 doctors to save his life.

Skin was grafted from his head to seal his torso? But the legless Mr. Peng was left only 78cm (2ft 6in) tall.

Bedridden for years, doctors in China had little hope that he would ever be able to live anything like a normal life again.

But recently, he began exercising his arms, building up the strength to carry out everyday chores such as washing his face and brushing his teeth.

Doctors at the China Rehabilitation Research Centre in Beijing found out about Mr. Peng's plight late last year and devised a plan to get him up walking again.

They came up with an ingenious way to allow him to walk on his own, creating a sophisticated egg cup-like casing to hold his body with two bionic legs attached to it.

He has been taking his first steps around the Research Centre with the aid of his specially adapted legs and a resized walking frame.

Mr. Peng, who has to learn how to walk again, is said to be delighted with the device.

What a Miracle & Self-confidence!

God is great!

Cholesterol

Share with you:

Try 3 tea spoon of oat (Require the cooking type and not instant type, preferably organic) and dissolve with drinkable room temp. water and soak overnight. (You could do it before you go to bed)

Drink them all the next morning before your breakfast. It's quite nice to drink as it's already soft.

Try everyday for 3 months and check your cholesterol, it should come down significantly.

I had tried and many had tried too. And found that it works and cost effective with no side effect. If you are taking medication, you can try too but don't stop the drug until you achieved good result and doctor say so.

Cooked oats especially instant are very slow to reduce cholesterol. Eating raw is better absorption and more effective.
