2008 has passed. Here comes 2009! Will it be a good year? No one can tell, only God knows. The Chinese thought 2008 to be a good and prosperous year bc of the number 8 but instead it turned out to be a year of disasters: earthquakes in Sichuan, floods and financial failures in the USA and landslides in Malaysia. What a year it was!
The good ones are the successful staging of the Beijing Olympics and the first space walk by the Chinese taikonauts.
Will 2009 be a year of recession and economic depression the world has to face?
I pray for peace on earth, especially in the Middle East. Isn't it ironical that the M.East where the world's 3 great religions started; Judaism, Christianity and Islam whose aims are to preach love and peace to all mankind, is also the place where most hatred, terrorism, cruelty, war and killing are taking place every day with no end in sight. I pray to God to make these people come to their senses and stop the destructive acts and concentrate to solve the economic crisis and make the world a better place for all.
